The Flergers!

While I was home for Spring Break, I was fortunate enough to take in some of the local wildlife. In all the time I lived in Ruidoso, I only saw the elk twice in big herds. (Once right outside my living room window!) You'll see deer all the time, wild turkeys, porcupines, bunnies, and the occasional bear, but the elk seem to be so much more elusive. They are really a sight to behold.

The morning I left Ruidoso, mom and I were on our way to the airport and wouldn't you know it---the elk were right in the neighborhood, just waiting for me to see them! I was so excited my hands were shaking but I managed to snap a few good pics. What a blessing!
