Second Pregnancy :: Week 25

Second Pregnancy :: Week 25
How far along?
25 weeks
How big is baby?
A Head of Cauliflower
During month six, the average fetus measures about 13.6 inches to 14.8 inches and weighs about 1.5 to 2.5 pounds. She's enjoying her new sense of equilibrium -- she now knows which way is up and which is down. She's growing more fat and more hair too!
Maybe you’re getting nervous about delivery, or maybe it’s your haywire hormones, but you might start to have trouble sleeping around week 25. This is a common complaint of many moms-to-be. Experiment with different strategies for getting some sleep.

Weight this week:
190.4
Total weight gain:
22
Maternity clothes:
I found a cute dress at Old Navy on clearance for $12. It is so cute! It’s a black and grey striped maxi dress and has ruching on the sides. I love it and it is so comfy! I never really enjoyed wearing dresses before now--I always felt so over-dressed. But I think I may be changing my mind! I look forward to wearing them!
Stretch marks:
Nothing new.
Belly button:
Half-innie and half-outie.
Sleep:
We’ve been so busy lately that I’m usually zonked out solidly for the night. Its kind of nice. I mean, I’m still getting up to pee a lot but usually crash right back out.
Best moment of the week:
My sweet boy turned 5 this week. Celebrating his birthday has made me nostalgic about the day he was born and reflect on my pregnancy with him.
Baby Girl likes the sound of her daddy’s voice. More than once she’s started kicking wildly when Jesse starts talking to my belly and it is really awesome to watch! (And feel.)
Food cravings:
Not many this week. My heartburn has been pretty awesome this week so it makes me not really feel all that crazy about food. I just keep thinking about whether or not it will give me heartburn.
Food aversions:
Well, I barfed a Chipotle burrito bowl earlier this week...wasn’t my choice, but apparently the Little Miss wasn’t keen...
Symptoms:
My biggest complaint, as I’m sure you can tell so far from this post, is the heartburn. It sucks. I hate it. It is almost as bad as barfing. Almost.
Movement:
Crazy amounts. RoseMary and I sat and watched my belly for several minutes this week to watch her roll around and make my belly shift! Sometimes when I look down now, I’m lopsided. She seems to prefer my right side. :)
Gender:
Girl! (Note: this section not likely to change from here on out....unlike my weight, which will.) :)
What I’m looking forward to:
I’m really looking forward to going to NM to see my Mommy. Her presence was missed when Papa was here and I’m ready for her to hug me and put her hands on my belly and tell me I’m the cutest pregnant lady she’s ever seen (which she will, because she’s the best Mommy in the world.) :)
What I’m nervous about:
I’ve been having Braxton-Hicks contractions fairly regularly. I don’t remember them from my first pregnancy (if I had them, I didn’t recognize them as such because I’d never known them before.) I just don’t know much about them and I don’t like how tight they make my belly feel and how they bear down on my bladder.
What I miss:
I don’t know. Its hard to feel like I’m lacking anything or that I miss anything in particular. I kind of miss my pre-pregnancy brain and I miss being in some control of my emotions...
Next appointment:
May 26th. Don’t want to talk about the glucose screening. I hated it the last time, and will probably hate it this time.
Comparison to Pregnancy #1:

Belly button seems similar--the top started to stick out first before the rest of it.
