Second Pregnancy :: Week 32
How far along?
32 weeks
How big is baby?
A Squash
At 32 weeks, baby’s birth still seems kind of far away, but you and baby are physically ready in a lot of ways, just in case there’s an early arrival. Baby may have turned so she’s in the head-down position by now, poised for her trip down the birth canal. And you may have noticed your nipples looking darker. That’s so a preemie can see them for breastfeeding -- isn't your body so amazing? Intensity might be building in the symptoms department, as heartburn and contractions intensify around week 32. But we’re guessing you’re so excited about baby’s impending arrival, they’re not slowing you down much.
Weight this week:
196.4
Total weight gain:
28 (no change from last week)
Maternity clothes:
I’m really glad that I bought a maternity swimsuit. I’ve worn it twice this week and I’m so happy that I’m comfortable in it!
Stretch marks:
Nothing new. (Or not that I can tell.)
Belly button:
Outie. Definitely.
Sleep:
I sleep in about 2 hour increments. My bladder wakes me up almost on cue (yay) but I’m still able to fall back asleep relatively easy. I just wish my hips wouldn’t ache. I have to switch sides about once an hour.
Best moment of the week:
We took Lucas to Champions Day at Hawaiian Falls this weekend and had SO much fun! The water wasn’t too cold, and the weather wasn’t too hot. Our sweet boy had so much fun going down the water slides and splashing in the water. He and his Daddy went down lots of slides (as I am quite round I had to take it easy, but I did go down a few slides on the kiddie area.) He giggled on the way down the slides and you could hear him from the top. It made my mommy heart smile.
Food cravings:
I’m not having much trouble with food this week. I just can’t eat a lot in a sitting. My meals are quite small and frequent, though I have been eating a lot of peaches this week--they are so sweet and juicy right now!
Food aversions:
Nothing specific! Yay!
Symptoms:
The frequency and intensity of my Braxton-Hicks is increasing and I feel this little girl bouncing up and down on my lower bits (I swear she’s gonna thrust an arm through my cervix!) She’s running out of room so the show on the outside of my belly is really amusing--I can see full-body ripples across my belly.
Movement:
Oh yes, almost constantly.
Gender:
Girl! (Note: this section not likely to change from here on out....unlike my weight, which will.) :)
What I’m looking forward to:
We’re going to take down the rest of the baby gear from the attic this week. In a weird way, I just want to see and hold (and clean) it.
What I’m nervous about:
I’m a little nervous about making sure I have my bag packed and getting the car seat into the car. After the little scare last week and the trip to the ER, I think I’m going to work on getting those things done.
What I miss:
I miss being able to breathe normally. I always feel out of breath, especially at night when I have to roll from side to side.
Next appointment:
July 7th
Comparison to Pregnancy #1:
Oddly enough, the weather. The year that Lucas was born it stayed relatively temperate through the month of June and there was a lot rain. The weather this past week has been similar.
