Second Pregnancy :: Week 39

Second Pregnancy :: Week 39
How far along?
39 weeks
How big is baby?
A Watermelon
Are we there yet? You’re probably feeling like you want to get this baby the heck out of you. We’re not sure, but the impatience and discomfort many moms feel around 39 weeks (and beyond!) might be nature’s way of getting you mentally prepared for delivery. Remember how freaked out you used to be about it? Now, at week 39 you probably don’t care what you have to do, you just don’t want to be pregnant anymore!
Baby keeps growing, despite being so crowded in there. He probably weighs around 6.2 to 9.2 pounds and measures about 18.9 to 20.9 inches. He's probably able to flex his limbs now. His brain is still rapidly developing -- he's getting smarter by the week! His nails may extend past his fingertips.

Weight this week:
198.8
Total weight gain:
30.4 lbs.
Maternity clothes:
I’m gonna miss some of my maternity clothes--specifically the tshirts. I have some comfy ones.
Stretch marks:
Thankfully I don’t think I have any new ones from this pregnancy. I’ve checked but I only see the silvery shiny ones from my pregnancy with Lucas.
Belly button
Outie. Full on.
Sleep:
Heh. Not really. Between the “up all the time to pee” and the “anxiety and nervousness” I am not sleeping well at all.
Best moment of the week:
Dr. Roberts giving us the induction date and knowing I will get to meet her soon! Also, having my parents arrive to be here for her birth and to take care of my sweet boy was a great way to end the week.
Food cravings:
Popsicles, slushies, anything cold and icy.
Food aversions:
I’m still kind of grossed out by most fast food right now. I’m happier with a bowl of cereal or some toast at home.
Symptoms:
The heartburn has been wildly uncomfortable this week...
Movement:
We went to the movies on Tuesday and about 3 am I woke up with some mild contractions. They were not consistent or evenly spaced out, and they only lasted for about an hour so I didn’t even bother waking up Jesse to worry him.
Gender:
Girl! (Note: this section not likely to change from here on out....unlike my weight, which will.) :)
What I’m looking forward to:
I want to hold her in my arms! I want to kiss her face and sing to her and stroke her hair. I can’t wait to meet this tiny human who has been living in me for 9 months!
What I’m nervous about:
I’m only nervous that I’ll go into labor before my parents get here. But we have a backup plan just in case, so I’m not really sure what I’m worried about. :)
What I miss:
At this point I just miss sleeping through the night without having to pee 15 times. I know the rest of this will all be resolved once she’s born!
Next appointment:
Induction Date: August 11, 2014 at 5am
Comparison to Pregnancy #1:
We went on a movie date when we were having Lucas and we were able to go to two movies this past week--it was nice to go on a few dates before becoming the parents of two children. I love spending time with my hubby.
