Second Pregnancy :: Week 31
How far along?
31 weeks
How big is baby?
A Pineapple
He's about 15.2 to 16.7 inches long and weighs about 2.5 to 3.8 pounds this month. He's getting so big, he's probably crowding your lungs.
Welcome to week 31. Can you believe all five of baby’s senses are fully developed? He also keeps getting smarter. That’s probably good to know, since you might actually feel a little dumb. You’re not! It’s just that many moms-to-be find themselves acting absentmindedly during the third trimester. Some say that “pregnancy brain” isn’t a proven physical ailment, but can you think of another time in your life when you’ve had more on your mind than now? We’re guessing no. That right there is enough of a reason to be so forgetful. From 31 weeks on, you’re bound to feel a lot of the same symptoms -- some may get worse, some may become bearable. And you might start to have more trouble getting around as you get heavier and feel more and more short of breath. Remember not to push yourself too much. It’s good for you and baby to get some exercise, but definitely take breaks to rest as much as you need.
Weight this week:
196.4
Total weight gain:
28
Maternity clothes:
Some of the tops that I got from my friend Alisa a few months ago that were too big for me are beginning to fit.
Stretch marks:
Nothing new. (Or not that I can tell.)
Belly button:
I think its as full on outie as its going to get at this point.
Sleep:
I’m sleeping pretty well except for the needing to pee every few hours. I’m still a little congested from the mountains so I’m still snoring (poor Jesse) but I’m thankful that I’m sleeping.
Best moment of the week:
It was nice to come home to Jesse on Sunday. We had a brief but nice Father’s Day and then a nice date on Monday for our 7th anniversary.
Food cravings:
Nothing much, really. Food and I are on weird terms again. I can’t eat a whole lot in one sitting so I find myself having lots of small meals, which is a struggle when its hard to think of something to eat 3 times a day much less multiple times a day. I do a lot of snacking.
Food aversions:
Nothing much.I just have to eat slow and not let myself get too hungry or else I run the risk of hurling.
Symptoms:
Uh, sorry if this is TMI but I’ve begun leaking breastmilk a little bit. I guess things are gearing up to feed this little pumpkin!
Movement:
Her movements are becoming a little bit uncomfortable--she’s such a busy girl!
Gender:
Girl! (Note: this section not likely to change from here on out....unlike my weight, which will.) :)
What I’m looking forward to:
I want to do some more sewing for the nursery and for the baby. I’ve been pinning lots of fun stuff on Pinterest that I’ve found and I am glad to have the summer to play a little bit.
What I’m nervous about:
Well, I wasn’t nervous until June 17th when I started having contractions and had to go to the ER in the middle of the night. Now I’m just nervous about her staying in and baking longer--I didn’t have preterm worries with Lucas and until this week I didn’t have any with her either because I’ve had such a normal pregnancy. But I guess it goes to show that I’m definitely not in control!
What I miss:
I miss not having heartburn. It really sucks.
Next appointment:
July 7th
Comparison to Pregnancy #1:
This week, I’m gonna have to go with nothing.
