Second Pregnancy:: 23 Weeks

Second Pregnancy :: Week 23
How far along?
23 weeks
How big is baby?
A Grapefruit
At about 10.5 to 11.8 inches and about 12.7 to 20.8 ounces, baby's not just getting bigger, she's getting even cuter. She's forming little nipples (yeah, really!) Her face is fully formed now -- she just needs a little extra fat to fill it out. She's listening to your voice and your heartbeat -- and even to loud sounds like cars honking and dogs barking.

Weight this week:
187.4
Total weight gain:
18.8
Maternity clothes:
Yes. That is all. :)
Stretch marks:
Nothing new.
Belly button:
Others have started to notice the poking out bit. I can see it when my shirts are tight around my belly.
Sleep:
I slept pretty well all week, but it was a testing week so I was pretty much exhausted after all of that. Its been kind of nice to get some sleep.
Best moment of the week:
My friends Holly and RoseMary got to feel her move this week. She’s been doing little ninja kicks and wiggling regularly.
Food cravings:
Tacos! Its all I want!! Of course, they give me some rockin’ heartburn...oh well. Gimme the tacos!
Food aversions:
Well, I didn’t think I had any, but my baby apparently has other ideas. After enjoying a nice bowl of Frito pie, she gave it the thumbs down, and it all came back up. :(
Symptoms:
Heartburn. Hip pain. Generally uncomfortable due to the stretching and growing. And my feet have been achy. I’ve also noticed that I’m struggling to get off the toilet now and my knees are unhappy with me.
Movement:
It doesn’t get old. I always put my hand on my belly when she starts moving so she knows I feel her too.
Gender:
Girl! (Note: this section not likely to change from here on out....unlike my weight, which will.) :)
What I’m looking forward to:
Sewing some more cloth diapers. I’m going to try my hand at serging some.
What I’m nervous about:
I’m nervous that she’ll come late, and that I’ll be home with Lucas the week of inservice while Jesse is at school and I’ll go into labor. One benefit to being induced last time is I could give my parents the heads up about when to show up!
What I miss:
I miss my boobs NOT laying on my stomach. It feels gross.
Next appointment:
April 28th. No sono, just a checkup.
Comparison to Pregnancy #1:

Other than the being pregnant, I think the similarities have ended. She’s definitely a girl. :)
