What a month it has been! Quite a few adventures have happened over this past month so I thought I would tell you about them!
*For starters, at your 4 month checkup you weighed in at 14 pounds and 8 ounces and you were 24 1/2 inches long! Dr. Paruolo continues to confirm that you are a beautiful baby and that you are developing right on track. He says you are average height and weight but what you lack in size you make up for in cuteness! You have giant eyes and long lashes and the most kissable chubby cheeks! You also have rolls and rolls on your cute little legs and I love every single one of them.
*You have discovered your tongue! Earlier in the month you began sticking your tongue out and keeping it there which has been kind of funny to watch. We have tons of photos of you with your silly tongue sticking out!
*You are so incredibly strong! You can't yet sit on your own without support but you can sit for about 5-10 seconds before you fall over. You also hold yourself up (when on your tummy) and will look all over the place.
*Your eyes have had a non-descript, grayish color to them up until now, but it looks like they may end up going hazel like your Mommy and Daddy's. When I look at them in the light they have a slight gold glimmer to them like mine. Your hair is definitely looking strawberry blonde in color--I am curious to see what color it ends up being.
*You rub your eyes now when you are sleepy. Sometimes you rub your whole entire face on your blanket or on my shoulder.
*You've begun to grasp things with your hands when we hold them out in front of you, and you play with your hands stretched out in front of you, inspecting them with a direct gaze and looking at them as though they were the most fascinating things you've ever seen.
*You celebrated your first Christmas and you were really interested in the tissue paper rather than the gifts themselves. You slept while we drove around and looked at lights but it was fun having you in on it. After Christmas you and Mommy and Lucas drove to see Honey and Papa in New Mexico. This was your first road trip and you did great! You slept a lot, and you fussed at times but eventually would just crash back out because you figured out that Mommy couldn't hold you while I was driving. Honey was absolutely enchanted with you and how much you've changed in just a month. We had a really nice visit (even if you were a drooling mess.)
*Earlier in the month you began to get distracted while nursing and were quite hard on Mommy. You've been drooling like it's going out of style and you've been shoving every blanket, toy, burp cloth and appendage you can fit into your mouth. We've had to put a bib on you every day and sometimes several outfit changes have ensued even when we have a bib on you! As you have probably guessed, you are teething! You've been a little bit grumpy and you aren't sleeping as well as you have been but you really been doing pretty well. Your first tooth arrived on January 6th, 2015 and your second tooth arrived right next to the first one on January 9th, 2015. (Your middle teeth, known as the central incisors.)
You are a dream baby. You are so bubbly and happy and you love to jibber-jabber and make noise. You are a social baby who likes to be interacted with and you are not content with being ignored for long. You love when people talk to you and hold you, and you are extremely cuddly and sweet. We are so blessed to be your family!
